About Us

trainer, personal trainer

Training goes beyond simply going through the motions; it's about embracing a philosophy that aligns with the life you aspire to lead. It all starts with mastering fundamental movement patterns. Here, you'll learn how to move effectively from the ground up.

At KSV Fitness, the "KSV" stands for Kurt Velk, TSG, USAF Ret. My journey began in 1985 when I enlisted in the United States Air Force as a Fire Protection Specialist. Over the next two decades, I served in various locations around the world, including England, Spain, Belgium, Honduras, and several deployments in support of operations like Desert Shield/Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom.

During my military service, I progressed from a Fire Protection Apprentice to a Fire Protection Craftsman, eventually holding the position of Assistant Chief of Operations with the rank of Technical Sergeant before retiring with an Honorable Discharge in October 2005.

Transitioning to civilian life, I found myself drawn to a career in Personal Training. Given my background in maintaining both physical and mental fitness, it felt like a natural progression. Following my retirement from active duty, I became a Certified Personal Trainer through the International Sports Science Association. Since then, I've continued to expand my expertise, earning certifications from organizations such as the National Council on Strength & Fitness and the National Academy of Sports Medicine, specializing in Corrective Exercise and Performance Enhancement. I'm also certified in Spartan SGX.

In addition to certifications, I stay updated with the latest industry theories and techniques through ongoing education and collaboration with peers. My commitment to excellence extends to maintaining certifications in Adult CPR with Automated External Defibrillator.

At KSV Fitness, my aim is to share my wealth of knowledge and experience to help individuals achieve their fitness goals and lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.
